Red Lodge, Montana has progressed over the last century from coal town to cow town to ski town.  It maintains a historic Old West main street while supporting a cosmopolitan population of about 2000.  The community has had a fascination with geology since the early 1930s, when the pioneering faculty from the eastern universities realized the wealth of geological experiences available within a short travel from the town.  A geologic comment on the street can lead to a lively conversion and new friendship in short order.  Several links are provided below for Red Lodge area information.  We will be expanding this with addition information and maps in the near future.
