Houston Faculty Award for Excellence in Service

The YBRA’s own Jinny Sisson is the University of Houston College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (NSM) 2024 recipient of the Faculty Award for Excellence in Service!

This award recognizes faculty members who have made significant contributions to the university, college, or department. This includes service in areas such as editorial roles, grant review panels, and leadership roles in professional societies.

Highlights of Sisson’s distinguished service include her years of service to both the Yellowstone Bighorn Research Association (YBRA) and University of Houston for the field camp program that has been sending students to the YBRA for over 18 years.

Sisson is a prior recipient of the Geological Society of America ExxonMobil Field Camp Excellence Award as well as the AAPG Grover E. Murray Award for teaching excellence.
