Meet Richard Krushensky
Fanshawe Lodge and Richard Krushensky
A YBRA field camp alumnus, Krushensky generously supported the YBRA and efforts to revitalize the Fanshawe Lodge by supplying matching funds required by a grant funded by the Carbon County Historic Rehabilitation Grant Program (CCHR). This initiative, supported by a Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization Grant from the National Park Service, has allowed extensive historic rehabilitation work to happen to the Fanshawe Lodge.
Dick attended field camp at the YBRA in 1954, and was based at the field station for his dissertation work from 1957 to 1959.
“My exposure in the YBRA field course … was the turning point in my decision to continue in the study of geology, eventually leading to receipt of my PhD for my dissertation on the Geology of the Hurricane Mesa, Park County, Wyoming. It is, not to put it too strongly, that the YBRA field course was the tipping point for the rest of my professional life.”
Krushensky is now an inaugural member of the newly established YBRA 1936 Society.
